Thank you all for coming to craft club!
Bath bombs with hidden spider!
You will need bicarbonate of soda, citric acid, soap colouring, a bowl, whisk, water spray, ice cream scoop and, of course, a plastic spider!
To make 4 smallish bath bombs you will need 150g of bicarbonate of soda and 50g of citric acid
In a dry bowl put the bicarbonate of soda and citric acid
Whisk the dry ingredients together
Carefully add a few drops of the soap colouring, whisking all the time.
Then add a few sprays of water.
Keep whisking! This is very important
Keep adding the water and whisking until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs
Press some of the mixture into the ice cream scoop. If it is crumbly it’s too dry. Tip into the bowl and spray and whisk again.
When your scoop is half full, press the spider in, and then cover with more mixture and press down.
You should be able to slide the bath bomb out of the scoop. If it crumbles, it’s too dry. Tip into the bowl and spray and whisk again.
Leave to dry for about an hour
You will need:
Card, googly eyes, glue, rainbow coloured pencils
Cut out the template. You can download it here: Cloud pencil box
Decorate the cloud with googly eyes and a mouth
Fold in the flaps
Glue the outside of the middle (smallest) slap and fold a longer flap over the top
Glue the outside of the longer flap and fold in the last flap. You may want to use a paper clip to hold in place.
Repeat on the other side
You can make peppermint or orange flavour too!
You will need icing sugar (500g), 1 dried egg white, 2 tsp strawberry flavouring, 4 tsp lemon juice, a rolling pin and cutters
Put the icing sugar in a bowl and make a hole in the middle with a spoon
In another bowl mix together the egg white, peppermint flavouring and lemon juice
Pour the mixture into the icing sugar
Stir the mixture, then knead together until it is a smooth dough
Sprinkle some icing sugar onto a clean work surface and roll out the mixture
Use the cutter to cut out your shapes and put onto a plate
Leave to dry for one hour
